Flossil Quay is a 009/Hoe/Hon30 layout on a board measuring 4' x 2'.  Half of the layout is the actual Flossil Quay and the other is hidden sidings and the power and controller The layout is a based on a private narrow gauge railway company servicing a Quay somewhere in Southern England on the south coast set in the late 70's early 80's the main business is coal export and local produce in the holiday periods the main traffic is holiday makers who visit the little town of “Flossil” The layout has a fleet of steam and diesel locos include in the fleet is a rather rare Ransome & Rapier 0-6-0 steam loco and also a 18T Two Truck Shay which was bought by the company from a logging railroad in Taiwan for the increase in traffic the company also owns a few rail buses for the winter service and a few oddity parcel units for a recent parcel contract the steam locos work passengers trains for the tourists to the town whilst the freight is worked by diesels.

There are two rakes of coaches on the layout all coupled together in two’s mostly all the freight wagons is from different manufactures there are a few long wagons which take out the local produce from the loading platform There are a number of coal wagons that move around the layout to and from the coal distributers.

All the track is Peco either 009 track or N gauge track, the latter is used for the hidden sidings and under the two tunnels.  The points are all Peco 009 points which are all electrified and are controlled from the hidden sidings part of the layout. All the 009 points are powered by Gaugemaster point motors, all situated under the board.  The scenery is a mixture of Hornby / Peco / Bachman people, cars and other bits and pieces.
