1918 - Northern France
A 009 layout by Darryl Foxwell
Scale 4mm/1ft
Gauge 9mm
Size 10’x 5’

By 1918 the web of narrow gauge railway lines supplied the means by which the goods of war were sent to the front, and provided the quickest and most comfortable way of moving wounded men back to the hospitals. The layout is based on photographs taken at the time, and the detailed locomotives and rolling stock have mainly been researched and built by Roy Hirst.

10ft long and 5ft deep the layout seeks to recreate the turmoil of the time.
